The Magic Rug is a space created for the younger ones and made out of objects and materials that come mainly from domestic waste. The proposal originates from our interest in working with everyday materials such as cardboard, plastic, clothes, buttons or recipients, among others. We also think there is a lack of spaces for those early years children in most of our parties. We add a magic powder of obstinacy, will and patience to these ingredients and…voilà!!!!
With the Magic Rug, children from 0 to 5 can experiment and learn basic notions like weights, density, sounds and textures of different materials and initiate into a bit more complicated game strategies. The space is divided into hexagons that we can join or separate depending on the conditions of the space and the amount of children. In each hexagon we propose the specific game materials and dynamics: remake a sun made of pullovers sleeves, create sun castles with cardboard tubes...The Magic Rug is already flying over our heads!!! Where can we let it land?
